Recomended Treats
What makes a good treat?
- The ingredients: look for something that is made from real protein. Try for treats with short ingredient lists whenever possible.
- The taste: it must be approved by the dog. Every dog is different. Not all dogs will like the same treats.
- The calories: Watch the amount of calories they get from treats. Only 10% of their daily calorie intake should be from treats.
What gives a treat its "value" ?
- The value of a treat comes from how much the dog is motivated to work for the snack.
- You can tell how motivated they are to work for a treat by the level of focus you have from them (even amongst distractions)
